I find it very peaceful there and just love looking after my friend's cats. Just wish the weather was better for me to enjoy it! This is my pond in our back garden. It has changed quite a bit since this photo was taken, I'll try and get a new picture as soon as possible to show you the differences. RE: Photographs of ponds! - DEBS S - 28-08-08 This pond is at Offwell Woods in Devon It is a area for children to study pondlife and wildlife, there is a proper classroom built of logs and schools take children there it is also open to the public , at is a great place to walk dogs. RE: Photographs of ponds! - Red Kite - 28-08-08 Lovely photo DEBS Now that's what I call a pond, what wouldn't I give to have that on my land. Everyone should have a pond.... whatever the size of their garden... couldn't do without mine. The birds and animals love them. RE: Photographs of ponds! - Retropad - 29-08-08 I'd love to have a pond Liz but I don't even have a garden anymore. What do you think I could get in a window box? Ret RE: Photographs of ponds! - suffolkliz - 29-08-08 Ret.... why a jam jar of course! It would be in proportion..... RE: Photographs of ponds! - suffolkliz - 29-08-08 Ok I did some dodgy pics of my two ponds - one is an ornamental fishpond .... unfortunately we have no option but to have a net over our ponds because herons come and clean it out otherwise. At least the frogs can get in and out though. This is my little wildlife pond - it gets reallyovergrown an jungly which I love... it's a bit of a mess at this time of year but the birds love to flap about in it. Again - we have to have a net because we always get mallards in this one and they tend to just turn it into a mudbath and all the bugs and beasties get eaten. I have a little bog garden next to the wildlife pond - it used to be all wildflowers but they grew so well that they always collapsed in a heap so now I mix wild flowers with hybrids so at least things manage to survive the whole season. After doing the little bog garden next to the pond I decided to make another one at the other end of the garden... the slugs and consequently the thrushes love to get in there and poke about. RE: Photographs of ponds! - Daffodil27 - 29-08-08 What beautiful ponds - such a variety of foliage and plants. Shame about the heron - I like to see them *but not on my pond* eh! RE: Photographs of ponds! - janowl - 31-08-08 Love your ponds Liz. I moved a shed in my garden last night and there was a huge Frog/Toad underneath. Very dry and very shrivelled. I thought it was a gonna until it moved, so we plonked it in the pond. I have no idea how long it had been there, or indeed, where it had come from. There are no ponds around here, and I live in the middle of a huge Housing Estate. I thanked it for finding my garden, and told it to bring it's partner along. (silly moo). I really had no idea how I was going to get frogs in my pond, which has gone very green, and there is already loads of blanket weed in there, and still I have no fish yet. Maybe I should have given it a kiss, and perhaps my prince would have appeared. LOL. I hope this is the start of a very long friendship. Hehe RE: Photographs of ponds! - suffolkliz - 31-08-08 janowl Wrote:Maybe I should have given it a kiss, and perhaps my prince would have appeared. LOL. Janowl you are a scream... once you kiss a toad you'll find they are all much the same... a bit of a let down to say the least RE: Photographs of ponds! - Osprey - 31-08-08 Love your ponds and bog gardens Liz Janowl, I was wondering about your pond. So.............a frog or toad already! Told you they would soon come. RE: Photographs of ponds! - janowl - 01-09-08 suffolkliz Wrote:Hehe. It was just a thought!!!!
